As our Senior Snowsports, Rental & Retail Officer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, developing an exciting range of rental and retail products that boost our department's profitability.
In this role, you'll lead a fantastic team of seasonal staff during the snow season, ensuring they deliver top-notch service. You'll use your keen judgment to interpret and follow guidelines, making decisions that keep everything running smoothly. Resolving any service delivery issues with ease, you'll ensure our daily operations are seamless. You'll coordinate and manage daily workflows, making sure our retail, rental, and Snowsports activities are executed flawlessly.
You'll take direction from the Head of Visitor Experience and collaborate closely with our amazing Visitor Experience team. Mt Baw Baw is Melbourne’s closest downhill ski, snowboard, toboggan and snow play resort....'make tracks' this winter for a unique employment opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the rostering and people-related functions of this team as well as coordinating with resort entry staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Liaise with suppliers to source stock for the village store.
- Supervise monthly stock takes and ensure appropriate stock levels of retail store.
- Liaise with external event partners to develop high-quality profitable events.
- Work with IT to ensure the ongoing development of POS, online, and APP.
- Assisting in the mountain delivery process when necessary.
- Achieve the goals and objectives of the organisation through participative practices which utilise the knowledge, talents, and commitment of all staff.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations including Occupational Health and Safety.
What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? - Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Snowsports instruction and rental or retail environment.
- APSI qualified or equivalent or have relevant/required teaching hours/experience
- Previous experience in customer service including handling and resolving visitor concerns.
- Previous experience leading a team within a retail/rental store or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions
- Working knowledge of stocktake systems and online sales platforms
- Laser sharp focus on providing a safe and fun environment for our guests.
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights. International applicants are required to obtain their own visa with valid Australian work rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred)
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
- Available to work weekends and school holidays.
- Available from end of May to 30 September (or the declared snow season)

Salary Range: $41.79 p/h including casual loading
