The opportunity: 

Are you passionate about skiing or snowboarding? Do you have a knack for teaching and a love for the mountains? Mt Baw Baw is searching for dedicated individuals to join our Snowsports: Rental and Instructors team! 

Members of this team are seasoned skier or snowboarders who want to share their passion of the snow with others. Whether it’s assisting our guests with getting the ‘right fit’ with their gear in our rentals department or helping them to improve upon their skills in one of our group or private lessons. You will be instructing people in skiing and boarding disciplines, from beginners (most of our visitors) to advanced. 

If you're a competent skier/snowboarder but not ASPI qualified, we may be able to assist you with becoming qualified instructor so you can join our Snowsports Team too.

Nestled only 2.5 hours from the heart of Melbourne, Mt Baw Baw is Melbourne’s closest downhill ski, snowboard, toboggan and snow play resort....'make tracks' this winter for a unique employment opportunity.  

Key accountabilities: 

• Instruction and Safety: Provide professional ski and snowboard instruction, ensuring safety by enforcing resort rules, teaching proper techniques, correctly fitted equipment and identifying potential hazards on the slopes. 
• Customer Interaction and Standards: Always maintain the highest level of customer interaction and teaching standards, following all resort policies, industry standards, and legal regulations related to Snowsports Instruction.
• Environmental and Public Relations: Promote environmental awareness and responsible mountain behaviour, supporting Public Relations activities as required. 

What amazing skills and experience will score you this role?   

• APSI qualified or equivalent or have relevant/required teaching hours/experience and be willing to complete instructor course on mountain. 
• Experience fitting skis and snowboards (desirable) 
• High customer service focus 
• A LOVE of the outdoors, including the rain, hail, and shine (and obviously SNOW) 
• Laser sharp focus on providing a safe and fun environment for our guests. 
• Flexibility to work in other departments/roles  
• Available to work weekends and school holidays.  
• Available from June to 30 September 2025 

The successful candidate will be required to: 

• have full Australian working rights. International applicants are required to obtain their own visa with valid Australian work rights. 
• Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type 
• Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred)  
• Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.

Salary Range: $35.95 - $40.34 includes casual loading
