The opportunity:

Are you a passionate cook looking for flexible work opportunities in a stunning alpine setting? We are seeking a talented and reliable casual cook to join our team on an adhoc basis and potentially join our team for the 2025 snow season!

The first event we need your talents to shine in our kitchen is February 22-23 when Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort hosts one of the Victoria’s premier downhill mountain bike events.

If you're an experienced cook who takes pride in the quality of the food, they serve and the cleanliness of their work environment, we would love to hear from you!

Nestled only 2.5 hours from the heart of Melbourne, and 50 km north of central Gippsland, Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort featuring 35 hectares of ski terrain in the winter and in the summer comes alive spectacular wildflower.

Key Accountabilities: 

• Hands-on cooking to create meals at the highest standard, in a cost effective & timely manner.
• Maintain quality control in offering to ensure consistency in food and service offering.
• Achieve the goals and objectives of the organisation through participative practices which utilise the knowledge, talents and commitment of all staff.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with resort staff, resort stakeholders and external agencies.

What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? 

• 2+ years’ experience as a cook in the restaurant industry
• Cert II in Commercial Cookery
• Food Handling Certificate   

The successful candidate will be required to: 

• have full Australian working rights.
• Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type 
• Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred) 
• Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.

Salary Range: $35.95 - $41.06p/h including casual loading
