FINANCE MANAGER | Ready to step up and take full ownership

Join a well-established and growing engineering business in Melbourne’s North West delivering complex projects to major national and global clients.

This is a true hands-on Finance Manager role where you will take full ownership of the finance function and work directly with the Directors to support continued growth.

The Role
Sitting at the centre of the business, this role will suit someone who enjoys being both operational and commercial.
You will take ownership of:

• End-to-end finance function across a successful founder led business
• Weekly payroll oversight and processing
• Cash flow management, forecasting and reporting
• Month-end close, BAS, PAYG and compliance (with external accountant)
• Job costing, WIP and margin analysis across projects
• Managing AP and AR team (2 staff)
• Supplier payments, including overseas suppliers
• Partnering with Directors on business performance
• Driving system and process improvements (MYOB & Simpro)

About You

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant in an SME
• Strong end-to-end accounting capability, including payroll and cash flow
• Background in engineering, construction, manufacturing or trade environments highly regarded
• Confident communicator who can work across all levels of the business
• Hands-on, resilient and comfortable in a fast-paced, no-frills environment
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence decisions
• Systems savvy (MYOB, Xero or similar)
