About the Role

As a Recreation & Activity Support Worker, you'll play a key role in creating engaging and meaningful recreational opportunities for residents. You will support residents to participate in activities that align with their individual goals, interests, and wellbeing, while promoting independence, inclusion, and social connection. This role works closely with residents, families, and the Residential Services team to deliver enjoyable and person-centred experiences every day.
There are permanent part-time positions available at our newest Shenton Park location. There are shifts available Monday to Sunday from 7:00am – 3:00pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and coordinate recreational and social activities that align with residents' NDIS goals and individual interests
- Facilitate and support participation in on-site and community-based activities
- Assist residents to safely engage in activities while following individual care plans
- Support residents with nutrition and mealtime assistance when required
- Maintain accurate activity records, reports, and statistics
- Communicate effectively with Residential Coordinators and Managers regarding resident wellbeing and participation
- Contribute to resident reviews and planning discussions
- Provide general support and assistance as required to enhance residents' quality of life
Must-Haves - Current First Aid Certificate
- A friendly, inclusive, and reliable approach to supporting others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
- NDIS Orientation Certificate (or ability to obtain)
