About the Role As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services to clients with neurological conditions while providing professional guidance and clinical support to junior staff as required. This role combines hands-on clinical practice with leadership within a multidisciplinary team, supporting high-quality outcomes for clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Practice - Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and evaluations aligned to client goals
- Conduct functional assessments within home and community environments
- Prescribe assistive technology, equipment, and strategies, with associated training for clients, families, and carers
- Maintain timely, accurate, and defensible clinical documentation
Clients & Stakeholders - Liaise with clients, families, carers, and external stakeholders including suppliers and funding bodies
- Provide education and support to carers and family members
- Work within funding frameworks including NDIS, HCP, and other relevant sources
Leadership & Collaboration - Provide clinical support and supervision to junior Occupational Therapy staff as required
- Support Occupational Therapy students, assistants, and volunteers
- Collaborate closely with allied health professionals and internal teams
- Contribute to service development, training initiatives, and quality improvement
Administration & Professional Practice - Maintain a balanced caseload and meet productivity expectations
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development
- Represent MSWA on committees or working groups when required
Must-Haves - Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 5 years’ community-based OT experience, including neurological clients
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence and First Aid Certificate
