About the Role As a
Community Engagement Coordinator, you’ll lead and inspire a team of Outreach Support Workers and Volunteers to deliver meaningful, engaging programs that help clients build skills, connect socially, and feel a sense of belonging.
You’ll create a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment where clients can participate in activities, learn new things, and maintain independence. You’ll also oversee personal care needs, ensure high-quality documentation, and manage the Outreach service budget and reporting requirements.
Your work will enhance client wellbeing, strengthen community connections, and contribute to MSWA’s mission of supporting Western Australians living with neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities Program Planning & Engagement - Develop a six‑month plan of activities, events, outings, and guest speakers in collaboration with clients.
- Introduce new activities based on client needs, feedback, and wellbeing goals.
- Follow up on client feedback and complaints in line with MSWA procedures.
Client Support & Wellbeing - Provide dignified, person-centred care that supports independence, choice, and self-determination.
- Assist with personal hygiene, meals, fluids, mobility, and medication support as per care plans.
- Encourage participation, socialisation, and engagement in program activities.
- Maintain client documentation and escalate wellbeing concerns when required.
- Support risk management and ensure a safe, tidy environment.
Team Leadership - Supervise, mentor, and roster Outreach Support Workers and volunteers.
- Support staff development through regular 1:1s, goal setting, and training opportunities.
- Ensure completion of case notes, documentation, and session requirements.
- Promote a positive, collaborative team culture.
Administration & Compliance - Manage Outreach budgets, income targets, banking, and expense reconciliation.
- Maintain registers, accurate records, daily activity logs, and client billing data.
- Lead monthly staff meetings and support emergency procedure drills.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote Outreach programs.
- Work closely with Client Liaison Coordinators to onboard new clients.
Must-haves - Minimum Certificate III in Community Services (or equivalent)
- Current CPR Certificate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to support clients with dignity and deliver personal care tasks
- Strong organisational, documentation, and time-management skills
- Experience working independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to MSWA’s values, Code of Conduct, and WHS responsibilities
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & NDIS Orientation Certificate
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
Nice-to-haves - Previous experience supporting people with disabilities
- Leadership experience in community, disability, or aged care settings
- Program planning or group activity coordination experience
- Efficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
