About the role
As our Community Engagement Officer, you’ll play a key role in strengthening community ties and enhancing the experience of people living with neurological conditions. This is a newly created position, giving you the opportunity to innovate and shape how we engage with our community.
This is a fixed term full time opportunity for 2 years based at our Belmont/Wilson office. With the success of these programs, there is potential for this role to become permanent – a chance to grow with us and make a lasting impact.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate and deliver community engagement activities and events, including workshops, social gatherings, and information sessions.
- Manage event logistics, such as venue bookings, catering, guest arrangements, and equipment needs.
- Develop and maintain promotional materials and event calendars in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Prepare and distribute newsletters, invitations, and communications to clients and stakeholders.
- Moderate and drive engagement on the Online Community Forum.
- Collect and analyse participant feedback to support continuous improvement of programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, local organisations, and volunteers.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and community involvement in programs and events.
- Represent the organisation at community events and contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Event Management, Marketing, Communications or similar discipline/ Diploma of community services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer- focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use databases or client management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, volunteers, and stakeholder
- An understanding of disability and its impact on individual’s abilities
- NDIS workers screening check and orientation module
