Are you passionate about food and making a difference in people's lives? MSWA is on the lookout for a Cook to join our Albany Accommodation Team. In this exciting role, you will prepare delicious and nutritious meals for our clients, volunteers, and staff. These meals will be tailored to meet individual dietary needs, including special meal plans, ensuring everyone enjoys food that supports their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities: - Prepare a menu planner in consultation with the clients and manager; whilst adhering to individual dietary needs.
- Prepare and serve hot meals; ensuring a high standard of presentation; using Food Safe Principles e.g. wearing headgear, gloves etc.
- Shopping and preparation of food for minor functions.
- Ensure all food is dated when opened or cooked, aligning with Food Safe regulations.
- Ensure kitchens are always kept clean and hygienic; including ovens, microwaves, fridges and cupboards; in accordance with Health Regulations.
- Maintain a stock control of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
- Maintain effective communication with all members of the team.
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
- Know the appropriate procedures and contacts in an emergency.
- Maintain all reporting procedures and inform the Coordinator or Manager of any concerns.
- Participate in relevant meetings & Maintain effective records of daily activities.
What we are looking for: - Previous experience in a similar role
- Successful completion the Foodsafe Food Hygiene Training.
- Food Safe competencies or a willingness to obtain one
- Able to develop healthy nutritious menus whilst working within the allocated budget.
- Prepare and present tasty and appetising meals.
- Provide a high standard of cleanliness.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Certificate (Or willing to obtain)
Desirables - Previous experience in working with people with disabilities.
- Understanding of modified diets.
- Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to the National Disability Standards.
