Are you a strategic and relationship-driven fundraising professional ready to make a meaningful impact? MSWA is seeking a passionate Philanthropy Manager to lead the development and implementation of our Individual Giving strategy. Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Partnerships and Events, you’ll design and deliver a comprehensive giving program—including appeals, regular and major giving, and bequests—while engaging with high-value donors and key stakeholders to drive sustainable income growth.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead donor engagement, and stewardship activities, supported by data analytics and our Salesforce CRM. You’ll collaborate across teams and mobilise senior leaders to cultivate relationships and secure philanthropic support for MSWA’s vital services and research. This is a permanent, full-time role based in our Belmont Office.

You thrive on building authentic relationships and have a proven track record in securing significant philanthropic gifts. You’re confident engaging with high-net-worth individuals and senior stakeholders, and you bring strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement a multi-year individual giving strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Lead annual planning and execution of appeals, regular giving, major gifts, and bequests.
- Conduct data-driven prospect research and manage a prioritised donor pipeline.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and prospects, advancing them through the giving journey.
- Coordinate donor events, communications, and recognition programs.
- Mobilise internal stakeholders to support donor engagement and solicitation.
- Manage budgets and contribute to income forecasting and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising legislation and MSWA policies.
Key Criteria - Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and 5+ years of fundraising experience.
- Demonstrated success in donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Strong data analysis and CRM (preferably Salesforce) experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills which enable you to build strategic relationships and influence key stakeholders to drive fundraising.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver against fundraising targets.
- Knowledge of fundraising legislation and best practices.
