Supporting our clients living with neurological conditions, our Rockingham outreach facility provides them with fun and engaging activities in a safe, social environment.
As our new Kitchen Supervisor, you and your team will be busy preparing/planning meals, snacks and beverages for our clients, staff, and volunteers alike.
You’ll quickly settle into a fantastic atmosphere and become known for your scrumptious dishes!
This is a permanent, part-time role (30 hours per fortnight) based at our Rockingham facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning & Budgeting: Create and manage appetising, nutritious menus that cater to our Outreach Clients, all while keeping an eye on the budget.
- Meal Preparation: Extend meal offerings for our amazing volunteers and staff, making everyone feel welcome and valued.
- Dietary Management: Oversee the preparation of modified diets according to individual mealtime care plans, including specific requirements like dysphagia.
- Food Ordering: Efficiently manage the ordering of food, beverages, and kitchen supplies, ensuring everything is in line with our procedures.
- Hygiene Compliance: Maintain high standards of hygiene and Food Safety protocols across all kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Outreach staff to support various activity plans, ensuring our meals enhance their experiences.
- Volunteer Supervision: Lead and mentor volunteers in meal preparation, creating a positive and engaging kitchen environment.
- Stock Management: Regularly conduct stock-takes of food and kitchen equipment to keep everything running smoothly.
- Training & Meetings: Engage in ongoing training and team meetings to stay updated on best practices and innovations in the kitchen.
What we are looking for: - Experience in meal preparation for groups of up to 30 people.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Valid ‘C’ Class driver’s licence.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Or willing to obtain)
Desirables - FoodSafe Accreditation
- Accredited Food Safety Supervisor (SITSS00069)
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers in a kitchen environment
- Skills in budgeting and forward planning for catering
- Previous experience catering to special dietary needs for individuals with disabilities
