This is a 6-month, full-time contract position based in our Belmont Office.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Finance Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the broader finance team and working on some exciting projects. You’ll have the chance to learn quickly and get exposure across the finance function.
Take ownership of key tasks such as:
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank transactions daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the shared inbox to obtain supporting documentation and maintain a detailed audit trail.
- Escalate unidentified transactions to the Financial Accountants and Head of Financial Control for further investigation.
Credit Card Reconciliation: - Reconcile credit cards monthly as part of the month-end close process.
- Get hands-on experience with SAP Concur (prior experience a plus, but we’ll train you if not!).
- Ensure claims are approved, receipts are provided, and GST treatment is accurate.
- Code transactions in accordance with the Chart of Accounts (COA) and dimensions.
- Follow up with credit card holders for late submissions or approvals.
Accounts Payable (Backfill - Annual Leave Cover): - Step in for 5 weeks of leave cover, processing supplier invoices in line with the Delegation of Authority (DOA) and COA.
- Manage the shared inbox and ensure timely processing of invoices.
- Set up new suppliers and process weekly and ad-hoc AP batch payments.
- Use Continia document capture, which is OCR technology, to enter key details into the finance system.
- Opportunity to be part of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for a new finance system!
Accounts Receivable (Backfill): - Process invoices for MSWA clients, including NDIS self/plan managed, fee-for-service, and residential.
- Collaborate with the funding team and management to monitor and follow up on aged debts, adhering to MSWA’s values, policies, and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by handling client queries via phone and email, going the extra mile to support clients.
- Process credit notes, working closely with the funding team to investigate and resolve invoicing issues, ensuring an appropriate audit trail is in place.
What can you bring to the team? - Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable.
- Familiarity with Accounts Receivable processes.
- Skilled in bank reconciliations.
- Proficient with finance systems.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV accounting software (desirable).
