About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, Australia & New Zealand, with a dotted line to the Group Chief People Officer, the Head of People is the senior people adviser to the regional CEO and leadership team. As a member of both the Australia & New Zealand Executive Team and CTM’s People Leadership Team, you’ll shape and deliver the people agenda that supports business strategy and performance across the region.
CTM operates within a global matrix, bringing together regional business priorities and global Centres of Excellence (CoEs) that develop and deliver common people programs. In this role, you’ll connect these priorities by representing regional needs in global decision-making, ensuring global programs are implemented effectively across Australia and New Zealand, and applying sound local judgement to employment legislation, culture and business practices.
This is an opportunity for an experienced HR leader to influence at executive level, lead a broad people agenda and drive meaningful outcomes across a complex, multi-region business.
What You’ll Do
- Executive partnership: Advise the CEO and leadership team on people priorities that deliver the business plan and CTM’s global People Strategy.
- Global and regional alignment: Work with the Group Chief People Officer, Centres of Excellence and fellow Region Heads of HR to deliver consistent global programs while addressing local requirements.
- Organisation and talent: Lead organisational design, workforce planning, talent reviews and succession planning, and coach leaders on leadership, team effectiveness and performance.
- Employee relations and compliance: Lead complex employee and industrial relations matters, ensuring compliance with Australian and New Zealand employment law and CTM’s risk and governance frameworks, including WHS, psychosocial safety and return to work.
- People programs and insights: Partner with Centres of Excellence across reward, talent acquisition, learning, HR operations and payroll, using engagement and workforce data to identify risks and opportunities.
- Change and communications: Lead the people aspects of restructures, acquisitions and transformation programs, alongside internal communications aligned with Group messaging.
About You
You’re a commercially minded and influential HR leader who combines strategic thinking with strong technical expertise and the confidence to navigate complex business and people challenges. You build trusted executive relationships, challenge constructively and know how to balance global consistency with local business needs.
You’ll bring:
- At least 10 years of HR experience, including senior leadership roles partnering with a CEO and executive team.
- Expert knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment law, industrial relations and workplace health and safety, including psychosocial safety and return-to-work requirements.
- A sound understanding of payroll compliance, with the ability to oversee service delivery and hold HR Operations accountable for accuracy.
- Experience working in a global or multi-region, matrixed organisation.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to turn people data and insights into practical recommendations that influence business decisions.
- Demonstrated expertise in organisation design, workforce planning, talent management and leading organisational change.
- The ability to influence without authority, navigate competing priorities and constructively challenge senior executives.
- Proven experience leading, developing and engaging a team of HR professionals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, coupled with sound judgement and absolute discretion.
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
Postgraduate qualifications or professional HR accreditation will be highly regarded. Experience in travel, services or multi-site businesses will also be advantageous.
