About the Role
As the Payroll Compliance Specialist for CTM Australia and New Zealand, you will be accountable for ensuring the accurate and timely accounting and reporting of our employee costs. You will be responsible for the accounting of each fortnightly pay run; oncosts; reallocations; including the current provision of annual leave; long service leave; superannuation; PAYG; workers compensation.
The role is positioned within the ANZ People department in Brisbane reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. This role is required to liaise heavily with Finance team for all finance related activities.
The position will work with HR, Payroll, Finance, and will assist with the implementation of any new continuous improvement, automation opportunities and system enhancement solutions relevant to payroll.
The successful candidate will be technically competent in payroll; possess excellent communication skills, a strong and keen eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously. You will also have excellent time management skills to ensure payroll is consistently processed on time and together with strong technical and accounting knowledge relevant to the role and industry.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Audit and review payroll data to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal obligations
- Monitor compliance with Fair Work, NES, Modern awards, EBAs and tax laws for legislation changes and business requirements
- Partner with payroll, finance and HR teams to resolve systems issues and streamline processes
- Analyse payroll trends and identify anomalies, overpayments or underpayments
- Provide systems administration and support for all ADP platforms, Payforce, Workforce and Real Time
- Perform reporting, analysis and systems troubleshooting
- Ensure Data integrity across multi-entity payroll operations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll systems and reporting
- Maintain strong documentation and provide guidance on compliance processes
- Stay current with legislative updates and advise on risks or required changes to payroll systems and processes
Education and Experience - Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in similar role
- Demonstrated experience in payroll
- Demonstrated experience using ADP suite will be an advantage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Sound Knowledge of Payroll Tax and Workcover legislation in all Australian states and territories.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to drive change and results in a positive manner
- High level customer service skills including outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to support all employees
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with intermediate Excel skills
- Experience in documenting; reviewing and improving processes through innovation.
- Strong attention to detail, time-management, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Resilience, patience, and strong confidentiality values are essential.
- Adhere to professional and ethical practices
- Experience in travel industry either finance or operations is desirable but not an essential
