ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is part of the small and highly collaborative People and Performance team and plays a critical role in delivering strategic communications to our globally dispersed employees. The Internal Communications Specialist is a creative and highly organised individual who champions the delivery of CTM’s internal communications strategy. This role plays a key part in connecting employees across multiple regions, cultures, and time zones; by bringing our purpose, priorities, and culture to life through engaging, on-brand communications.
With a strong passion for employee engagement and culture, the Internal Communications Specialist creates targeted communications meaningful content at scale and speed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the delivery of the internal communications strategy, ensuring consistency of messaging, tone, and brand across all internal channels.
- Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders, showcasing CTM’s brand, values and culture.
- Develop, curate and deliver engaging internal content including but not limited to articles, presentations, newsletters, videos, and additional multi-media as required.
- Adept at designing, editing and publishing visual and multimedia content including short-form video and imagery.
- Proficient in creating, editing and maintaining SharePoint landing pages and functionalities.
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to proactively improve communications across CTM.
- Partner with marketing and ESG/sustainability teams to deliver ESG content calendar.
- Proactively engage broadly across CTM with key initiative owners, marketing and relevant leaders to coordinate and facilitate the collection and communication of key messages and employee experience stories.
- Engage with marketing to ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages.
- Build a culture of two-way communication where employees have an opportunity to engage with and respond to communications.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Degree in business, communications, change, public relations, journalism or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience delivering integrated internal communication strategies that support business goals, drive engagement and improve performance.
- Strong track record influencing across global, dispersed and matrix organisations, with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures and regions.
- Deep experience communicating people and culture initiatives to diverse employee groups, using the right mix of channels and formats.
- Delivers high-quality, visually strong communications that clearly explain strategy, without over-engineering or slowing delivery.
- Able to translate complex initiatives into clear, practical tools that enable leader-led communication across topics such as performance, learning, wellbeing, rewards, inclusion and engagement.
- Experience creating and delivering executive engagement plans that raise leader visibility, build trust, and encourage open, two-way communication with employees.
- Confident communicator with the ability to write and present for all audiences, including executives, senior leaders, Board and frontline employees.
- Strong attention to detail, with clear, concise writing and sound editing, layout and design skills.
- Data-literate, able to use insights and trends to improve communication strategies and activity.
- Technically capable across common communication and design tools, including Microsoft, SharePoint, Viva Engage, Teams channels, video tools, creative platforms and email distribution systems (e.g. Adobe, Canva, Marketo/Mailchimp or similar).
- Proactive and self-driven, with strong planning and problem-solving skills and a focus on delivering outcomes aligned to business strategy.
