About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Officer supports payroll processing for approximately 1000 employees across Australian and New Zealand. The ANZ Payroll function is part of the ANZ HR Team providing a great employee experience to the employees at CTM.
The Senior Payroll Officer role is responsible for working with the ANZ Payroll Team and wider ANZ HR Team to ensure timely and accurate, confidential processing of the end-to-end payroll function. The role is required to liaise with all employees, the wider HR Team and the Finance Teams regarding payroll queries.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee and process payroll with the payroll officer for Australian & New Zealand Payroll, including fortnightly payroll, executive payroll and all associated requirements for payroll for CTM as part of CTM’s HR & Payroll Team, including:Check all changes to employee master data files in accordance with a set timeframe, including recruitment paperwork and employee terminations
- Checking and manual data entry e.g., Car allowance, back pays, change of employee details, salary sacrifice arrangements (novated leases, super), and employee share plans
- Work with the Payroll Accountant to ensure the completion of all payrolls related oncosts responsibilities: Payroll Tax; Superannuation; Workers Compensation application; preparation of annual reviews, reconciliations, and lodgements including STP to ATO
- Maintain and manager Superannuation, up to and including Payday Super, Australian Super clearing house and employee changes, along with payments and returns on fortnightly basis
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of existing legislations and keep up to date with new legislation to comply with federal, state, legal requirements; ATO legislation; Fair Work Act; Payroll Tax by state and relevant industry awards; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on required actions
- Ensure record keeping in line with legislative requirements
- Assist with payroll related audit schedules and reconciliations.
- Work closely with the ANZ HR Team to ensure payroll system and payroll operate effectively, efficiently and with minimal duplication
- Update and maintain payroll procedures to ensure best-practice operations and continuous improvement practices
- Manage Fresh Service ticketing system while working with the team to review ticketing requirements and management of workflows to ensure enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
- Update and maintain the time and attendance system (Real Time), working with users and managers for best practice while also looking at any future improvements
Education and Experience - 4-6 years’ experience in payroll administration for a workforce of 1000+
- Experience in ADP Payforce or other relevant payroll systems experience (required)
- Certificate III in Business or relevant qualification (desired, studies towards or a keen interest in developing your skills
