Our client is a leading conservation organisation with a significant presence across Australia. As it embarks on a transformative journey to secure long-term sustainability, this role has been created to lead strategic financial initiatives, ensuring the alignment of financial goals with the organisation’s overarching mission and business objectives.

With a diverse portfolio that includes retail operations, events, site visits, and e-commerce, the organisation is poised for growth, and your expertise will be pivotal in making that happen.

The Role
Position Type: Part-time (~3 days/week) | Hybrid Work Model
Duration: 4 to 6 months

As a Financial Strategist, you’ll partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership to drive strategic decision-making during a critical period of transformation. Your work will ensure the organisation’s financial health, optimise processes, and enhance reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop compelling business cases to empower the executive team and board with informed options for key business decisions.
• Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to set the organisation’s strategic financial direction, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
• Refine and modernise financial reporting for the board and leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Leverage technology to streamline financial systems and processes.
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the board, executive team, and suppliers.

About You
You are a strategic financial leader with a strong track record of driving organisational change and delivering value. Passionate about making a difference, you thrive on tackling challenges and helping organisations achieve their full potential.
Your Skills & Experience:

• Expertise in strategic financial leadership, including planning, analysis, forecasting, and risk management.
• Proven experience supporting organisations through strategic change initiatives.
• Mastery of financial systems including Xero, cloud-based platforms, Microsoft Excel, and the Office 365 Suite.
• Proficiency in dashboard development and financial modelling.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
• e commerce experience will be well regarded.
