You will work together with the CEO/ CSO and other Management and Science Team members to drive business critical activities and projects. This carries responsibility for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and completion of the medicinal chemistry program, from hit-to-lead identification through to IND studies.
In addition to superior postgraduate credentials, you are experienced in pre-clinical and/or clinical small molecule inhibitor development. Further, you have led and motivated teams, demonstrating the capacity to communicate effectively with investigators, regulators, funding bodies and investors.

Summary of Role:
The Head of Medicinal chemistry will work together with the CEO/CSO and other members of the Gertrude Biomedical (GBM) Management and Science Team to lead and manage the medicinal chemistry program and other business critical activities (e.g. Business Plan, grant applications etc.) through oversight or delivery of specific project milestones.
Achievement of these goals will require the Head of Medicinal Chemistry to have high level interpersonal and communication skills, personal initiative, pre-clinical and/or clinical small molecule inhibitor development experience, proven project management skills, scientific credibility, relevant industry experience (i.e. small molecule inhibitor design and development) and be able to work highly collaboratively as part of a team.
Overall, the Head of Medicinal Chemistry is responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and completion of the medicinal chemistry development program (from hit-to-lead identification through to IND studies).
