Lead the Mornington Peninsula's largest Neighbourhood House at a genuine turning point — a complete, highly engaged Board, a freshly endorsed strategic plan, and a rebuilt governance foundation ready for you to bring to life.
About the Organisation
Capel Sound Community Hub — operating as Rosebud West Community Hub Ltd — is an independent not-for-profit, registered charity and the largest Neighbourhood House serving the Southern Mornington Peninsula predominantly. It delivers community programs, education, food relief, a community café and room hire, supported by around 50 active volunteers and a full, highly engaged Board of Directors.
About the Role
As Hub Manager, you'll be the operational heart of the Hub — translating a clear strategic plan into day-to-day impact, while working as a genuine peer alongside the Early Learning Centre Director. It's a hands-on, community-facing role for someone who is as comfortable presenting to the Board as they are unpacking deliveries or hosting a community lunch.
What You'll Do - Lead and grow community programs that reflect the Peninsula's changing demographics, including a growing base of young families
- Manage volunteer engagement, screening and onboarding across a team of around 50 volunteers
- Identify, apply for and manage grants and funding to strengthen the Hub's financial sustainability
- Directly manage the Café Manager and on-site café operations, and lead the Hub's food relief program
- Prepare board papers and reporting that support strong governance and decision-making
- Build a genuinely collaborative peer relationship with the Early Learning Centre Director
About You - Neighbourhood House or community-centre experience is ideal, though not essential
- A proven ability to turn strategy into everyday operational practice
- A genuinely collaborative, collegial leadership style — well suited to a peer-reporting structure
- Hands-on and willing to pitch in, regardless of seniority
- Experience with fundraising, grant applications or managing revenue-generating activities such as a café
- Confidence engaging volunteers, staff, community members and partner organisations
What's On Offer - A clean foundation — A rare, clean-slate leadership opportunity backed by a fully engaged Board
- A true peer relationship — A genuine peer partnership with the Early Learning Centre Director, built into the role from day one
- Competitive remuneration — Circa $145,000 inclusive of superannuation (SCHADS Award Level 7, pay point 2)
- Flexibility — Genuine openness to full-time or part-time arrangements
- Meaningful impact — A varied, front-facing role at the heart of a growing Peninsula community
