With a broad service offering spanning aged care, education, language, culture and heritage, CO.AS.IT. plays a central role in preserving identity while delivering essential services across generations.
CO.AS.IT. is now seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next phase.
The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly respected, multi-faceted community organisation at a pivotal point in its evolution.
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will provide leadership across the organisation’s diverse service streams and act as the primary representative of CO.AS.IT. across government, community and international stakeholders.
Following a period of transition, the organisation is seeking a CEO who can bring strong organisational leadership, enhance internal alignment, and provide confident financial and operational oversight. Supported by an experienced team, the focus is on unifying, strengthening and positioning the organisation for the future.
Success in this role will come from the ability to balance people leadership, stakeholder engagement and disciplined operational management, while maintaining the organisation’s long-standing reputation within the Italian–Australian community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across aged care, education and cultural programs
- Represent CO.AS.IT. across government, community and international stakeholders
- Strengthen organisational structure, capability and internal alignment
- Ensure financial sustainability and effective resource management
- Navigate a changing aged care and funding environment
- Lead, mentor and support a long-tenured and diverse workforce
- Maintain and grow strong relationships with key partners and funding bodies
About you You are an experienced executive leader with the ability to operate across complexity, build trust, and deliver outcomes through people.
You bring sound judgement, strong communication skills and a practical leadership style suited to a community-based organisation.
Fluency in Italian and English is strongly preferred, given the need to engage with the Italian community, government stakeholders, and international partners. Candidates without this capability are unlikely to be competitive.
Your background may include - CEO, Deputy CEO or senior executive leadership experience
- Exposure to not-for-profit, government-funded or community-based organisations
- Strong stakeholder engagement across government and/or community sectors
- Financial oversight and organisational management capability
- Experience leading through change, reform or organisational evolution
