The Opportunity
Lort Smith has partnered exclusively with Brooker Consulting to recruit two People & Culture Business Partners. They are full time positions, with the possibility that one could work 4 days/week (for the right person).
Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, these hands-on positions will work closely with people leaders across the organisation to deliver expert HR advice, practical solutions, and initiatives that support engagement and performance.
You’ll play a key role across the employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding through to development, performance, and employee relations — helping to shape an inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with managers to provide HR advice across recruitment, performance, and employee relations matters
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience
- Support and guide performance management and workforce planning activities
- Contribute to talent and organisational development initiatives including training and leadership programs
- Provide advice on employee and industrial relations, policy compliance, and workplace legislation
- Support safety, wellbeing, and return-to-work programs
- Contribute to HR process improvement and system enhancements
- Collaborate with leaders to embed positive cultural and engagement initiatives
About the Person - 5–8 years’ experience in an operational HR or generalist business partner role
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, influencing, and coaching managers
- Practical knowledge of HR systems, processes, and policy implementation
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Collaborative, professional, and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for making a positive impact
