FOCUS Connect is a registered, not-for-profit charity that offers practical help and support in Aged Care (CHSP, HCP) and Community services programmes to the disadvantaged and marginalised in the greater south west of Sydney. With a strong focus on getting people the support they need when they need it, FOCUS Connect provides tailored services for individual requirements, supporting families, parents, youth, the aged, and carers. As a respected aged care and community services provider, FOCUS Connect plays a vital role in the lives of children, youth, parents and seniors in the broader community.
The opportunity
The Board of Directors is seeking a strategic, decisive, and empathetic CEO to lead the organisation to achieve its strategic vision and objectives, navigate the increasingly complex aged care and community services landscape, and ensure financial sustainability. This experienced leader will be instrumental in driving high-quality service delivery, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering a client-centric workforce. You will work closely with a dedicated, forward-thinking Board, leveraging their expertise to achieve strategic goals and ensure effective governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Strategic Transformation: Drive the strategic vision, translating Board directives into actionable plans and achieving organisational goals across all key functions (Finance, HR, Quality, IT, Asset Management, Aged Care, Community Services).
- Enhance Service Excellence & Compliance: Oversee high-quality service delivery, ensuring compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and policy requirements.
- Drive Financial Sustainability: Develop and manage budgets, identify funding opportunities, secure grants, and ensure long-term financial health.
- Cultivate a High-Performing Culture: Foster a client-focused, collaborative, and innovative workforce through strong engagement, development, and talent attraction/succession planning.
- Strengthen Strategic Partnerships: Act as the primary liaison between the Board and management, building strong relationships with all stakeholders, including government, industry, donors, and the community.
- Champion Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement, implement technology solutions, optimise processes, and manage organisational infrastructure and assets effectively.
- Ensure Robust Governance: Maintain strong internal governance, including risk management, financial oversight, and audit processes, while ensuring Board compliance and effective board administration.
The Person Strong governance skills, extensive executive leadership experience, deep sector familiarity, and proven innovative commercial acumen are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for community services and aged care, a commitment to ethical leadership, and a proven ability to deliver results. You will embody the values of the organisation, focusing on clients so they can focus on what matters.
