Job Title: General Manager
Location: Adelaide, SA
Salary: Commensurate with experience + superannuation, company car and work-related gadgets.
Work Set-up: Full-time, fully on-site.
 

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a commercially minded General Manager to lead an established manufacturing business through its next phase of growth.

The successful candidate will combine strong financial literacy with marketing, sales and business development capabilities to drive commercial performance and build lasting customer relationships.

You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, engaging prospective customers, interpreting financial performance and translating business strategy into practical results.

We welcome candidates from a range of industries who can demonstrate strong commercial judgement, leadership capabilities and a track record of driving business growth.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Strategy: Develop and implement business strategies that support growth, profitability and long-term sustainability.
• Financial Management: Read and interpret financial statements, balance sheets and management reports to monitor performance and inform business decisions.
• Sales and Marketing: Lead marketing initiatives, strengthen market presence and identify opportunities to expand the customer base.
• Business Development: Build relationships with prospective customers, negotiate commercial opportunities and develop new revenue streams.
• Commercial Performance: Monitor revenue, costs, margins and business performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Leadership and Management: Lead and support teams, promote accountability and foster a positive performance-driven culture.
• Operational Oversight: Work closely with relevant teams to improve efficiency, productivity and service delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, manage change and strengthen overall business performance.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership, General Management, Commercial Management, Sales and Marketing Management or Business Development role.
• Strong financial literacy, including the ability to interpret financial statements, balance sheets, budgets and business performance reports.
• Proven sales, marketing and business development capabilities, including experience engaging new customers and developing commercial relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities and translate strategy into measurable business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship management and leadership skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day business priorities.
• Industry experience is flexible. Candidates from manufacturing, industrial, engineering, B2B, distribution or other commercially focused environments are encouraged to apply.
