About the Role:
We are seeking experienced CNC professionals to join our growing manufacturing team. Whether your expertise is in CNC machining, CNC programming, or coordinating machining operations, this is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing environment producing precision-engineered components for high-performance industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and program CNC milling/lathe and machining centres.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Develop or modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Mastercam or similar).
• Perform machine setup and tooling changes and optimise machining processes.
• Monitor machining quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and coordinate machining schedules to meet production deadlines.
• Design or improve tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and coordinate preventative maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to optimise manufacturing outcomes.
• Mentor and support CNC operators and apprentices where applicable.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment.

Qualifications:
Essential:

• Trade qualification in Engineering, Fitting & Turning, Machining, Toolmaking, or a related discipline.
• Experience operating and/or programming CNC machining centres.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Full Australian working rights.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• CNC programming experience using Mastercam or other CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, or similar CNC control systems.
• Production planning, scheduling, or workshop coordination experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience within a CNC manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aerospace, defence, rail, automotive, mining, or precision engineering industries.
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or workholding solutions.
• Forklift Licence.
