Mechanical Design Engineer 
$90k – $110k + Super

About the Role:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 4–10+ years of industry experience to join our Sydney-based engineering team. You will play a key role in the design and development of products used every day by people around the world.

This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanical engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through to detailed design, prototyping, and production while working closely with manufacturing and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new mechanical products and components 
• Create detailed component designs including material selection, tolerances, installation methods, and testing standards
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
• Prototype and test new designs and concepts in accordance with engineering principles and relevant safety standards
• Investigate product performance issues and implement design improvements to optimise reliability and performance
• Inspect and approve samples of new or modified components and develop specifications for the manufacturing team
• Maintain and manage CAD documentation for parts and assemblies, ensuring clear and efficient design workflows
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve processes, production efficiency, and product quality
• Provide technical support and respond to customer queries relating to mechanical design and product functionality

Required:

• 4–10 years’ experience in mechanical design
• Strong experience using SolidWorks for 3D modelling and technical drawings
• Experience with product prototyping, testing, and design validation
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture
• Comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering

You must have working rights in Australia and be based in Sydney in order to fulfil this role. The role requires you to be onsite at the company facility.
