Job Title: Mechanical Assemblers & Sheet Metal Fabricator
Location: Adelaide, SA
Salary: $70,000 to 80,000 + super
Work Set-up: On-site, Full-time
About the Role:
We are looking for Mechanical Assemblers who are passionate about precision, quality, and hands-on craftsmanship. In this role, you will be assembling and fitting high-performance mechanical components used in advanced aerospace and defence systems. You’ll work closely with production teams and engineers, ensuring every component meets strict quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, fit, and align mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, seals, and housings
- Use precision tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify tolerances and accuracy
- Read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical assembly instructions, and engineering specifications
- Conduct quality checks to ensure assemblies meet aerospace/defence standards
- Identify and resolve basic mechanical fitting or alignment issues during assembly
- Safely operate hand and power tools (spanners, torque wrenches, presses, pullers, drills, grinders)
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to meet project timelines and requirements
- Maintain accurate assembly and inspection records
Qualifications: - Background in mechanical assembly, fitting, or precision manufacturing (aerospace, defence, automotive, or related industries)
- Strong practical skills with mechanical assembly, alignment, and fitting techniques
- Experience using torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering tolerances
- Excellent attention to detail, commitment to quality, and strong safety awareness
- Trade qualification (Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Automotive/Diesel Mechanic) or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Must be an Australian citizen (due to defence/security requirements)

About the Role: We are seeking a hands-on
Sheet Metal Fabricator to join the production team. In this role, you’ll be fabricating and assembling sheet metal enclosures and components to support cutting-edge projects in high-tech industries. You’ll work with a range of fabrication tools and collaborate with a skilled team in a fast-paced, practical workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Fabricate sheet metal components using bending, folding, riveting, and drilling techniques
- Assemble enclosures and cabinets, ensuring correct alignment of hinges, fasteners, and fittings
- Operate hand and power tools to consistently high standards of workmanship
- Read and interpret basic technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet quality and delivery targets
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment
Qualifications: - Proven hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly
- Competence in using fabrication tools (e.g. drill press, riveters, folding machines)
- Ability to read and follow assembly diagrams and instructions
- Strong practical skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a production or workshop setting
- Must be an Australian Citizen
Desirable (but not mandatory): - Experience in cabinet making or assembling metal enclosures
- Background in defence, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
- Trade certification in sheet metal fabrication
