Job Title: Business Development Manager – Utility Projects

About the Role:
This is a high-impact role for a commercially driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead the growth of utility-scale solar PV mounting solutions across the ANZ region. You’ll be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing the full sales cycle—while working closely with cross-functional teams to align client needs with innovative renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis
Conduct in-depth market research and identify high-potential customer segments
Maintain a qualified sales pipeline and provide regular market intelligence to management
Sales and Revenue Growth
Lead the full business development lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure
Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives
Monitor performance and optimise sales strategies based on data-driven insights
Client Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the utility energy sector
Understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive long-term value
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, product development, and marketing to ensure alignment of sales strategies with market demand
Share client feedback and trends to inform product development and go-to-market strategies
Reporting and Insights
Deliver clear, concise performance reports to senior leadership
Stay informed on competitor activity, market dynamics, and policy developments impacting the utility solar sector
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus)
Minimum 5 years in business development or sales within the solar industry
Strong track record of closing complex, high-value deals in the utility-scale solar sector
Deep understanding of ground-mount PV systems (fixed tilt and trackers) and the ability to communicate their technical and commercial benefits
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and client communication skills
Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
Proficient in project management and CRM tools
Willingness to travel within Australia and New Zealand as needed for client meetings and industry events
