As a Senior ML / AI Engineer, you’ll design and deploy advanced models that extract meaning from complex documents and visual data.
Think object detection, layout parsing, and spatial understanding—at scale, and in production.
You’ll help build robust data pipelines and practical solutions that make information easier to find, interpret, and act on—turning cluttered inputs into clean, structured insights.

What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop ML models to extract structured data from complex documents and images
- Create robust pipelines for object detection, classification, and spatial analysis
- Work alongside product and engineering teams to bring AI-powered features to life
- Continuously optimise model performance to improve accuracy and impact
- You'll help to develop a product that you'll be able to see your colleagues using every day & later get to see it being used around Australia
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years experience with ML / AI in a senior development position
- Experience in computer vision, optical character recognition (OCR), and document AI (LayoutLM, OpenCV, Tesseract)
- Strong Python skills and proficiency in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace)
- Cloud deployment experience (GCP preferred but open to discussion)
- Experience bringing real products to market from early concept stage
- Knowledge of spatial data extraction or layout recognition of interest
- Excellent communication skills & comfortable working in a small team as part of a larger company
- Full working rights in Australia. No sponsorship provided.
This role will involve working with a small team of developers on energy-saving products, so any related experience is also a plus.
You must have working rights in Australia: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a suitable working visa. We cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
The role is onsite in the Castle Hill office in Sydney.
