Our client, a Global Brokerage Firm, is looking for a Futures and Forex Compliance Officer to join their growing team.

Our client is looking for a motivated and talented compliance officer who is familiar with securities and commodities and foreign exchange regulation and has appropriate experience at a Futures Commission Merchant, regulatory agency, exchange or law firm. In particular, they are looking for someone with expertise in CFTC and NFA regulations as they pertain to futures and foreign exchange activity.
Location: Greenwich, CT or Chicago, IL
Responsibilities: The Compliance Officer – Forex and Commodities will be responsible for:
Providing compliance coverage for foreign exchange and commodities product offerings, including advising the business on compliance and regulatory issues.
Handling regulatory issues related to Interactive Brokers foreign exchange and commodities product and system offerings.
Drafting and implementing firm policies, controls, and written supervisory procedures, as well as conducting periodic testing.
Meeting with and responding to examiners from the CME, NFA, CFTC, SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory bodies.
Assessing the firm’s existing internal controls against regulatory requirements and expectations.
Researching, interpreting and advising the firm regarding compliance with laws, regulations and guidance applicable to Futures Commission Merchants, Retail Foreign Exchange Dealers, and broker-dealers.
Crafting detailed business requirements for programmers and technology staff to enhance internal controls in response to new regulations or the launching of new products and services.
Developing and implementing remedial action plans in response to internal and external audit findings.
5-10 years’ experience with a Futures Commission Merchant, Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer, exchange, law firm, or regulatory body such as CFTC or NFA
Strong knowledge and experience working with CFTC and NFA regulations
Industry registrations (i.e., a Series 3, Series 7, and/or Series 24 registration) or member in good standing of the bar of any U.S. state or the District of Columbia preferred
High degree of comfort and fluency with computers and technology, and understanding of how technology is applied to business and regulatory problems. Experience working directly with programmers and/or familiarity with scripting or query language is preferred
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop compliance solutions that satisfy relevant regulations while executing sound business judgment
Ability to work both independently as well as in a small-team environment, and to multi-task with minimal supervision
Experience managing individuals and/or small teams
Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Excel and Atlassian Confluence/JIRA preferred
