Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager for Money Transmission Regulatory Compliance to guide the company as it exponentially grows its money movement program and capabilities. Work directly with the business and broader Legal and Compliance team to help the small business group bring new financial services offerings to market and monitor existing compliance controls for current products. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience creating, monitoring, and enhancing policies, procedures, and controls to evaluate the effectiveness of the money transmission program. The candidate would have experience building risk assessments and presenting results of control monitoring and testing to management.
Subject matter expert (SME) for money transmission compliance - Partnering closely on all aspects of the business including product development, customer success, operations, and risk management with a focus on new offerings.
Aid in the development of business operations policies/procedures and ensure implementation of compliance processes with the operations team, as well as other functional and business units.
Contribute to third-party, government, and internal audits and inquiries.
Work with Product Attorneys and Global Corporate Affairs to help evaluate and implement changes in regulatory environment. This will often involve work with internal teams as well as outside counsel.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; with 3-5 years professional experience in money transmission or payments.
ACAMs and/or Compliance certification preferred.
Experience with reporting requirements for regulated financial institutions.
Experience with Money Transmission/Money Service Business regulations and requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Customer regulations, sanctions screening, and the payments industry.
Proven ability to apply regulatory knowledge to the practical design and application of processes and procedures.
Creative thinker, able to support innovation while managing risk.
Good communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. Ability to communicate regulatory compliance issues to senior management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively frame issues to drive strategic thinking and execution.
