Job Description & Synthesis
Our client is seeking a Regulatory Marketing Compliance Manager for Banking Services to guide the company as it exponentially grows its banking services offerings. The ideal candidate will have a depth of marketing compliance experience within the financial services industry, ability to collaborate with a diversity of stakeholders, strong team mentality and be driven to grow professionally and personally.
Ensure regulatory compliance with all marketing materials including, but not limited to, print, radio, and social media. Review a wide variety of submitted marketing materials and provide a timely and accurate response, including reasons for requested changes and suggestions where necessary. Identifies, assesses, and mitigates marketing compliance risks related to marketing and social media initiatives.
Review all marketing, social media and sales materials - diplomatically and succinctly communicate content concerns and required edits; explain the regulatory basis for the changes; and recommend creative alternatives to ensure content is compliant.
Evaluate and enhance the current marketing review, approval, tracking and monitoring process, and work with key stakeholders to ensure that advertising, marketing, web presence and social media communications meet or exceed regulatory expectations.
Per regulatory guidelines, retain all approved materials according to established policies and procedures.
Develop guardrails and train teams on marketing requirements for highly regulated offerings such as lending, mortgage brokering, deposit products, etc… improving knowledge of compliance requirements with applicable regulations, rules, and industry issues. This training will include mentoring other reviewers to increase their knowledge levels so that they too can perform reviews of marketing materials in regulated areas.
Prepare for exams and audits with respect to marketing communications. Interact with internal employees, marketing specialists, and management to resolve compliance findings related to marketing.
Work with Legal, Compliance and business teams to implement regulatory changes that impact marketing.
Serve as the primary day-to-day compliance partner for the marketing team as well as partner compliance teams (as it relates to marketing), helping them to execute digital marketing, print, multichannel and social media initiatives with appropriate content and required disclosures.
Be tech-savvy and fintech-forward, identifying tools that could aid in the compliance review of marketing, improve processes and efficiencies.
Deep subject matter knowledge of financial services regulation, including but not limited to TISA/Reg DD, FCRA, ECOA, TILA/Reg Z, CCPA, GLBA/Privacy, Fair Lending, UDAAP, RESPA, SAFE Act, and others - as well as working knowledge of TCPA and CAN-SPAM.
Ability to understand laws/regulations and communicate the requirements to business teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
5-10 years’ professional work experience reviewing marketing materials within a regulatory or compliance function for financial services.
CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) Preferred - current certification or ability and willingness to become certified.

Experience mentoring / training personnel in various positions (compliance, legal, marketing, business) to better understand the regulatory requirements and so such personnel can handle such review for less complex issues.
