Senior Cloud Engineer – ML Platforms | London
We are working with a major global organisation that is making a significant investment in AI and has established a new AI Accelerator in London.
They’re now looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer – ML Platforms to help build and evolve the infrastructure that sits underneath some genuinely exciting AI and computational biology work.
This isn’t a traditional cloud infrastructure role.
You’ll be working closely with researchers, ML engineers and platform teams, helping them move from experimentation and model training through to scalable, reliable production environments.
A lot of the challenge is around creating an environment that makes life easier for scientists and engineers — secure, scalable, automated and straightforward to use.
Technically, you’ll be working across areas including:
- AWS and SageMaker
- Cloud networking, IAM, storage and compute
- Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD and automation
- Databricks and MLflow
- Jenkins / Bitbucket
- OpenShift and containerised environments
- ML and MLOps infrastructure
As with most of the searches I work on, I’m equally interested in how you work.
They need someone who enjoys solving difficult infrastructure problems, but who can also sit down with a researcher or ML engineer, understand what they are trying to achieve and translate that into a sensible technical solution.
Someone pragmatic.
Someone collaborative.
Somone who wants to improve things rather than simply maintain them.
And ideally someone who is genuinely interested in what happens when cloud engineering meets AI and scientific research.
The wider mission is particularly compelling. The infrastructure you build will support teams using AI and computational approaches to tackle complex biomedical and scientific problems.
The position is based in London, with approximately three days per week in the office.
If you’re an experienced AWS / Cloud Engineer already working around ML platforms, MLOps, data science or AI infrastructure, I’d be very interested in having a confidential conversation.
Equally, if somebody in your network immediately comes to mind, I’d really appreciate an introduction.
Please message me directly or apply for more information.
