Senior Technical Leader – MLOps / AI Platform Engineering
London | Hybrid | 4 days per week onsite
  
I’m working exclusively with a major organisation investing heavily in AI, computational science and R&D to appoint a senior technical leader for a strategically important AI unit.
  
This is not simply an MLOps engineering role.
  
We’re looking for someone who can set the technical direction, create the strategy and bring people with them.
  
Someone who can define what excellent MLOps looks like across a sophisticated AI environment — while still being close enough to the technology to solve difficult problems when needed.
  
You’ll take ownership of the MLOps architecture and roadmap across the full model lifecycle, including:
  

• Large-scale model training and orchestration
• Experiment tracking and model registries
• CI/CD for machine learning
• Deployment, serving and monitoring
• Model governance, lineage and artefact management
• Kubernetes, Docker and Helm
• Distributed training and scalable AI infrastructure
• Performance and cost optimisation

  
But the technology is only half the brief.
  
We need a technical leader people genuinely want to work with.
  
Someone who can mentor and develop engineers, establish strong engineering principles, influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across AI research, data, infrastructure and the wider business.
  
You’ll need to have operated at Senior Staff / Principal / equivalent level within MLOps, ML Platform Engineering or Machine Learning Engineering and have experience defining architecture and technical standards for production AI systems.
