The Opportunity
You will lead a talented Computational Biology group that partners closely with Therapeutic Area (TA) leadership and scientific teams across in vivo, in vitro, pharmacology, imaging, and early clinical development. Your group will serve as a critical driver of biomarker strategy, patient stratification, and disease understanding.
This is a position for a forward-thinking scientific leader who can blend deep technical expertise with strong communication and stakeholder influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the strategic Computational Biology partner to the Therapeutic Area, shaping portfolio decisions from discovery through early clinical.
- Integrate multi-omic, imaging (fMRI/EEG), and clinical datasets to drive biomarker discovery, target validation, and patient segmentation.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 8+ Computational Biologists and Data Scientists.
- Build effective partnerships across in vivo, in vitro, pharmacology, imaging, and clinical teams.
- Champion innovative analytical approaches across translational science and portfolio programmes.
- Oversee complex matrix projects with multiple disease areas and stakeholder groups.
Experience We’re Looking For - PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years industry experience in pharma/biotech.
- Proven expertise integrating multi-omic, imaging, and early clinical data.
- Strong experience in biomarker discovery, translational biology, and patient stratification.
- Experience leading teams (5+ people) and large multi-disciplinary projects.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex data for varied audiences.
- Collaborative, humble, and solutions-focused.
Highly advantageous: - Background in CNS, neuroscience, neurodegeneration, or psychiatric disease.
- Hands-on experience with fMRI, EEG, or other advanced imaging modalities.
- Experience in AI/ML-enabled modelling or multimodal integration.
