Are you an experienced leader in Computational Biology ready to drive innovation across Neuroscience, drug discovery, and translational medicine? We're seeking an expert to lead computational efforts across CNS therapeutic areas — from early-stage discovery through to Phase IIb proof-of-concept clinical trials.

Tasks & responsibilities
As Director of Computational Biology N&MH, you will have the following accountabilities:
• Strategic Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as the primary computational partner for the Neuroscience & Mental Health Therapeutic Area, working closely with leaders across Discovery Research, Translational Medicine, and Clinical Pharmacology to drive innovation and impact.
• Scientific Innovation & Insight: Lead computational strategies to support novel therapeutic concepts, biomarker discovery, and patient stratification. Apply advanced bioinformatics and machine learning methodologies to multi-omics datasets, including genomics and single-cell transcriptomics/proteomics, to inform decision- making across the drug discovery continuum.
• Global Representation: Represent Neuroscience & Mental Health within the global Computational Innovation leadership team, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals and scientific priorities.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a diverse team of computational biologists, ranging from early-career scientists to associate directors and domain experts. Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on scientific excellence and continuous development.
• Resource Management & Growth: Oversee resource allocation and team development, with a strong emphasis on scaling capabilities and nurturing talent. Drive recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development initiatives.
• Collaborative Partnerships: Cultivate and expand internal and external collaborations, including academic partnerships and contract research organisations, to address key portfolio needs and close strategic gaps in data and methodology.
Educational Background: PhD or equivalent postdoctoral experience in Neuroscience (with strong computational expertise), Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline.
Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (including start-ups), or in a senior academic or research leadership role within a centre of excellence.
Domain Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Neuroscience and Mental Health, with a strong foundation in research or clinical informatics considered a significant advantage.
Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in computational biology, including the integration and analysis of clinical and multi-omics data.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work across international and interdisciplinary teams, contributing to discovery research and data science initiatives.
Leadership Experience: A strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, including experience managing senior scientists and team leaders.
