ADMS Expert:
A global engineering consultancy company, specialising in complex power system challenges is searching for an ADMS Expert to join their team based in Riyadh. The goal is to provide high-quality solutions for the challenges of the energy transition. Their multidisciplinary team of experts offer strategic, technical, and regulatory advice in all fields related to power transmission, as well as a range of specialist solutions to a diverse and international client base in the power sector.
This business has offices in Belgium, Germany, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Malaysia and Canada.
Your function
The company wishes to reinforce its team working on Smart Grids Design & Digitalization. Searching for an ADMS Expert to lead the design, development, and deployment of next-generation utility management systems. This role is ideal for a highly skilled functional engineer or an architect with deep experience in ADMS, DERMS, and grid automation who can align digital technologies with business goals, drive smart grid innovation. The ideal candidate will have led global utility projects and possess deep knowledge of grid standards, ADMS functionalities, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture.
Typical activities involve (but are not limited to):
- Review implementation of Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and associated modules
- Operate, maintain, and optimize ADMS applications such as: Distribution SCADA (D-SCADA), Volt-VAR Optimization (VVO), Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration (FLISR), Outage Management Systems (OMS), Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS)
- Review and validate signal point lists (SPLs), communication protocols (e.g., DNP3, Modbus, MQTT), and DER telemetry for system readiness.
- Collaborate with planning and operations teams to analyze network performance and propose grid modernization improvements.
- Support data-driven applications such as AI-based load forecasting, EV charging strategies, and predictive grid analytics.
- Participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), substation commissioning, and ADMS application training for control center personnel.
- Document system designs, change logs, and operator manuals in line with utility quality frameworks.
- Design and review scalable and secure architectures integrating DERMS, IoT, and cybersecurity frameworks for electric utilities.
- Develop and integrate real-time control strategies and automation for MV/LV distribution systems
- Collaborate with global teams and clients to define functional and technical requirements, ensure performance, and align with regulatory mandates
Your responsibilities will be decided based on your competencies and expertise and will be discussed during your interviews with managers.
Your profile
- Bachelors or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in ADMS, DERMS, SCADA, and Grid control
- Excellent communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluent in English;

Location
