Director, Transactions
Reports to: Executive Vice President, Business Development
Location: Texas
Company Overview:
A well-established battery energy storage and solar project developer, as well as an owner-operator of renewable energy assets, is seeking a high-energy candidate with significant transactional experience. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the divestitures of projects under development (pre-construction opportunities) and, secondarily, to originate new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Divestitures:
- Prepare offering materials for the sale and/or project financing of battery energy storage and solar PV assets.
- Lead outreach to potential project buyers through industry networks, new contacts, and existing relationships.
- Manage data rooms to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project information.
- Support the buyer’s due diligence process by coordinating prompt responses to inquiries and information requests, managing cross-functional teams as necessary.
- Lead contract negotiations to ensure profitable and timely completion of assigned transactions.
Other Transactions (e.g., PPAs, Build Transfer Agreements, and Tolling Agreements): - Serve as the manager responsible for preparing and submitting high-quality proposals for new contracts.
- Manage internal and external resources (e.g., engineering, financial analysis, consultants, and advisors) to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive proposal submissions.
- In collaboration with the Senior Financial Analyst, provide pricing recommendations, including assumptions and rationale.
- Lead contract negotiations.
Reporting: - In collaboration with the Executive Vice President of Business Development, prepare weekly and monthly reports.
Professional Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or another relevant area of study.
- MBA preferred.
- Five-plus (5+) years of experience in a similar role within the independent power, utility, or renewable energy sector.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in financial modeling involving tax equity partnership flip transaction structures and battery energy storage projects.

- Self-starter who can work independently and motivate internal and external resources to meet key deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams and with senior management.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Other: - Travel required, potentially internationally.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
