Our Growth & Transformation team drives new revenue opportunities and leads organisational transformation to ensure RSL Queensland remains sustainable, relevant and impactful. With an entrepreneurial mindset, we identify, validate and commercialise new opportunities that support our long‑term strategic goals.

The Innovation & Commercial Analyst will utilise research, financial modelling, AI‑enabled analysis, and turn complex data into clear, evidence‑based recommendations. The role will work across the full Innovation Lifecycle – from early discovery through to pilot evaluation – ensuring every opportunity is commercially viable, strategically aligned and decision‑ready.
This role reports to the Head of Innovation & Growth and as part of the Innovation & Growth team, key responsibilities include:

• Use AI‑enabled research platforms to accelerate discovery and generate strategic insights.
• Deliver sharp market research and competitor analysis.
• Run primary research to validate ideas fast.
• Turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Support initiatives across the full Innovation Lifecycle.
• Build financial models and stress‑test assumptions.
• Develop business cases with strong commercial logic.
• Analyse costs, risks and benefits for new opportunities.
• Keep governance, documentation and stage‑gates tight.
• Contribute to government and institutional tender work.

 About you: 

• You’re analytical, curious and commercially minded, with confidence navigating ambiguity.
• You love solving complex problems, exploring new markets and using data to drive decisions.
• You bring experience in commercial analysis, market research and business case development.
• You have strong financial modelling skills and capability in Excel and PowerPoint.
• You communicate clearly, collaborate well and present insights confidently to senior stakeholders.
• 2+ years’ experience in commercial analysis, market research, business case development or tender support.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics or related field.
