About the role:
The District Secretary (as it's known internally) plays a vital role by representing State Branch in the provision of efficient, effective, high quality and client-focussed administration, coordination and secretariat services to the District and District Executive. Based in our Bundaberg office, your role is the key liaison and contact point between State Branch, District, and the Sub Branches. You will be supported by an Administration Assistant.
Some of the key accountabilities include:
- Ensuring a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Day-to-day management and completion of District administration tasks (reception, incoming calls, emails, and arranging travel, accommodation, and catering etc).
- Working in partnership with State Branch to deliver key League related deliverables, programs and projects.
- Assisting in the effective distribution of League information to Districts and Sub Branches.
- Undertaking actions as required by League Constitutions & By Laws at all levels and those requirements of the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (notice of meetings, agendas, taking minutes etc).
- Leading and developing the District Administration Assistant.
About you:
- Depth of experience in a busy and demanding office administrative role in a similar sized organisation.
- Leadership and stakeholder management experience
- Sound knowledge of corporate governance requirements and experience in the provision of effective secretarial support to boards and committees or ability to interpret and apply complex legislation?
- Customer focus with the ability to work with volunteers and demonstrated empathy for Veterans
- Ability to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders (dual reporting experience would be an advantage)
- Able to work some weekends and do some travel
- Formal qualification in business administration or a related field is desirable.
