The Veteran Services department is embedded in the veteran and Defence community, delivering extensive services and support that helps veterans and their families in Queensland and nationally to thrive. Striving to provide all veterans and their families with a streamlined, supportive and empowering experience after leaving the Australian Defence Force is at the centre of what we do. The department also supports RSL Queensland’s 10 Districts and network of more than 230 Sub-Branches across the state.  

Reporting to our Fundraising Manager and as a member of our League Support Services team, your role will focus on supporting grants programs, applications and opportunities. 

From an external grant perspective, you’ll assist your manager with the end-to-end coordination of grant applications to entities outside of RSL Queensland. Proactively communicating with your stakeholders in Sub Branches to support them with process and timelines will be a key priority for you. From an internal grant perspective, one of your key responsibilities will be as primary coordinator of a SharePoint filing system to control the grants application, assessment, and acquittal process for the Sub Branch Grants Program (SBGP).  

As the Grants Administration Assistant, you will have the proven ability to: 

• build and maintain robust relationships with internal customers & stakeholders (including the SBGP Committee) as well as external organisations  
• set priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks from multiple individuals  
• consult, communicate and problem-solve effectively  
• produce high quality written reports/minutes 
• work autonomously as well as in a team environment  
• maintain confidentiality and privacy of information  
• operate within the ethos of RSL values always  
• acquire knowledge, in the applications of RSL QLD work practices, policies, procedures and guidelines  

This position is based in Fortitude Valley. There will be some work from home flexibility depending on business requirements. 
  
You will also possess:  

• demonstrated strong administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities 
• a high level of accuracy and attention to detail  
• solid numerical skills and demonstrated Excel capabilities 
• proven high quality customer service skills  
• solid interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills 
• excellent working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
