ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to lead our skilled Onsite Delivery Team with work based across the Pilbara and would consider a locally based Karratha applicant, or FIFO from Perth. Our scope of works are currently Earthworks NPI & Civil Construction on Iron Ore Mine sites with multiple projects under way, and others in the pipeline. You will be joining a construction team that have been successfully working around the Karratha/Pilbara region for many years and require the support of a Project Manager. Due to the nature of the Projects, we are focusing on applicants with strong Earthworks & related NPI Mining Civils experience, with a proven expertise in large scale concrete works.
Our Project Values are ranging from $5m-$50m, working mostly on Tier 1 Iron Ore Mine Sites, therefore are seeking someone with:
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering structural concrete works—foundations, slabs, formwork, reinforcement, large-scale pours—within civil or mining infrastructure projects.
- Confidence in liaising with EPCM representatives and managing multiple work fronts.
- A track record of delivering quality outcomes safely, on time, and on budget
DUTIES:
- Reporting to the Construction Division Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the Projects on-site
- Manage, liaise with, and manage staff, sub-contractors and suppliers, by suitably selecting, evaluating, monitoring, and controlling performance and meeting of deliverables.
- Complete construction HR objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees and direct reports.
- Communicate job expectations to all personnel.
- Plan for, implement, monitor and adhere to policies and procedures, of both the Company and the client, and all other stakeholders as required.
- Convey various construction information to company management including statistics, budget information, personnel and sub-contractor performance, and contribute to company strategic plans and reviews, and implementation of company quality and customer-service standards.
- Resolve problems and identify construction management system improvements.
- Meet construction budgets and timeframes through implementation of suitable controls, monitoring, managing, and reporting.
- Understand the contract, scopes of works, engineering specifications and drawings, and identify variations under the contract to any of the commercial and/or technical requirements.
- Resolve design issues, evaluate and implement change orders.
- Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by ensuring standards and any legal regulations are complied with.
- Enhance the companies reputation by exploring opportunities to add value to projects and communicating this with clients.
- Seek out, communicate, obtain approvals for change, and implement various improvements in methodology to improve on project safety, quality, budget, and timeframe.
- Attend various sites and facilities to gather information and assess site conditions.
- Participate in post award tender negotiations.
- Provide planning and logistical support.
- Participate in various company improvement forums, ie lessons learnt, procedural reviews etc.
- Networking and representation of the company to promote/nurture future business prospects.
- Other duties as required for successful Project Management role
REQUIREMENTS: - Relevant Qualification in Project Management (Diploma) and/or Building Certification
- Accredited qualification relevant to the role which may include trade qualification and/or a Certificate or Diploma level qualification
- 10 years experience in managing earthworks and civil construction projects in the Mining Industry
- Clear and professional communication skills
- MS Suite experience (Microsoft Excel & Project)
- Clear and professional written & verbal communication, as well as efficient reporting skills
- S26 Supervisor Qual or Supervisors Section 44 Certificate
- White Card
- Police Clearance
- Ability to pass Pre-Employment Medical including CVD Risk assessment
- RTIO Inductions (Advantage)
