Heavy-Duty Mechanic (HD Mechanic) - Caterpillar Specialist
  
Location: On-site (Argyle/Atlas). DIDO
Roster: Choose from 8:6 or 2:1, Days Only.
Pay Rate: Up to $82.25 per hour
  
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DIDO Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our clients maintenance team. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining their fleet of earth-moving equipment, with a particular emphasis on Caterpillar machinery, to ensure they are in safe and operational condition.

Key Accountabilities

• Job Specific:
• Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental procedures, including the execution of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for tasks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on various brands like Caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu, Toyota, John Deere, Mack, and Volvo.
• Carry out daily repairs, both in workshop and field settings.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of earth-moving equipment.
• Supervise apprentice HD mechanics.
• Manage parts and accessories for repair and reuse.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work (DMR).
• General:
• Commit to Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
• Minimize risks and maintain a safe work environment.
• Report hazards, incidents, and risks promptly.
• Follow all company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Engage in continuous improvement and mandatory training.

  
About you:

• Required:
• Trade certificate in Heavy-Duty Mechanics.
• Proven track record in earth-moving equipment maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• High ethical and professional standards.
• Commitment to ongoing technical education.
• Current Class C Australian driver’s licence (not on probation if mine site based).
• Desired:
• High Risk Licence for activities like crane operation, dogging, forklift, and EWP.
