Due to an internal promotion, Scenic Hotel Group is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as the General Manager for our Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands property. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a well-established hotel group with over forty years of experience in tourism, known for providing exceptional customer service and showcasing the best of New Zealand.

Overview
As the General Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring guests receive an exceptional experience from check-in to check-out. This role emphasises customer service, staff wellbeing, and strong leadership skills. You will be supported by a large network of experienced hospitality operators across our hotel network and our corporate support office.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily hotel operations, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage departments.
• Monitor and manage the hotel's financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, and revenue management.
• Recruit, train, and manage hotel staff to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained at all times.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, suppliers, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Continually improve the guest experience through innovative ideas and initiatives.

Requirements

• Ideally, 5 years of experience in hospitality management or a related field.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and product presentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and financial performance.
• A passion for the hospitality industry and a drive to succeed.
