The Sous Chef role offers an exciting opportunity for the experienced culinary professional looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
The Sous Chef's role will involve:
- Assist in planning and direct food preparation and culinary activities involved for the service the hotel’s outlets.
- Assist the Head Chef in controlling food ordering and labour cost requirements
- Quality control and “final touch” of all prepared plates
- Undertake supervision duties ensuring that all kitchen employees maintain high standards of service.
- Assist in all staff and training within the Hotel kitchens and ensures that all records required by the Hotel are maintained to established standards.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications RequiredThe successful candidate will need to have:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial kitchen environment, with 1-2 years in a senior kitchen role preferred.
- A NZ Certificate (Level 4, or higher qualification) in Cookery.
- A current Food Handling Certificate
- A current First Aid certificate
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
