Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent position.
Hours of Work: Guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week. Primarily Monday-Friday but may include some weekends.

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Scenic Hotel Te Pania. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys painting, decorating, general maintenance, and leading by example. You'll play a key role in maintaining our hotel to a high standard while delivering a safe, welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Oversight of the running of the department including determining work requirements and allocation of duties.
• Oversight of preventative maintenance schedule and routine checks.
• In coordination with the General Manager and Property Team, prioritise and schedule maintenance tasks for the property and grounds.
• Preparation and maintenance of Maintenance department rosters and attendance records.
• Planning, budgeting, and ordering for the Maintenance department.
• Ensuring that training is coordinated, structured, and aligned with service standards.
• Taking a proactive approach to implementing service improvements to drive departmental success.

General Maintenance Tasks/Repairs:

• Fixing or replacing faulty equipment and appliances in guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Conducting carpentry work, such as repairing furniture, doors, and cabinetry.
• Painting and maintaining the interior and exterior surfaces of the hotel.
• Handling minor repairs and maintenance tasks in guest rooms, such as changing light bulbs, and adjusting room fixtures etc.
• General grounds & landscaping work if required. 

referred Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience with building repairs / maintenance
• Relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Strong painting, decorating, and general trade skills.
• Confident completing hands-on repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Guest-focused with a high standard of workmanship.
• Full NZ Drivers Licence is required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
