At Scenic Hotel Cotswold, we’re all about warm Kiwi hospitality, smooth operations, and memorable guest experiences. As our next Duty Manager, you’ll be the steady hand that keeps the hotel humming and the guest journey seamless — from the lobby to the restaurant during peak times.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading by example on shift to keep daily operations running on point across the Front Office (and being visible in the restaurant and housekeeping during busy service peaks).
- Anticipating guest needs, solving issues before they become problems, and turning “okay” stays into “that was brilliant!”.
- Coaching and supporting the team on service standards, upselling, cash handling, and handovers.
- Partnering with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance so rooms, arrivals, and service flow are spot‑on.
- Keeping a cool head in the unexpected: late arrivals, group movements, VIPs, and the odd curve ball.
- Ensuring safety, licensing, and hotel policies are followed on every shift.
You’ll bring - Proven experience in a busy hotel environment (Front Office/Duty or Shift Management).
- Outstanding communication — confident with guests from all over the world and calm under pressure.
- A guest‑first mindset with the confidence to make on‑the‑spot decisions.
- LCQ & Manager’s Certificate (or the ability to obtain quickly).
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings and weekends.
