Are you a hands-on Head Chef who enjoys leading a team, keeping things running smoothly, and serving up great food? Got a couple of years' experience running a kitchen, managing costs, and keeping quality high—even during the quiet times?
Scenic Hotel Marlborough is looking for someone to take charge of our kitchen. You’ll be planning and prepping, managing the team, keeping an eye on food safety, and making sure every plate looks and tastes spot on.

Your Role: What You'll Do and Your Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily food prep and kitchen operations for hotel outlets
• Manage ordering, food costs, and labour within budget
• Lead and support a skilled kitchen team
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards
• Ensure top-quality food presentation and consistency
• Work closely with the Operations Manager on planning and service
• Handle staff training, rostering, and team supervision

Preferred Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will need to have:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a senior kitchen role preferred. 
• A NZ Certificate (Level 4, or higher qualification) in Cookery.
• A current Food Handling Certificate
• A current First Aid certificate
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
