Senior Mechanical Engineer
 
Based in Perth's southern corridor, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for delivering mechanical design and drafting services across all phases of commercial vessel development, from concept design through to final delivery. The role plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organisational quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate technical documentation ensuring vessel designs comply with regulatory standards, specifications, and customer requirements
• Lead and supervise mechanical design teams
• Manage and interpret design inputs from external parties, including drawings, certifications, and technical manuals
• Monitor task schedules, track progress, and manage upcoming deliverables
• Identify and implement improvements in design processes and product quality
• Undertake detailed design of exhaust, propulsion, domestic, cooling, hydraulic, and fire systems
• Prepare design drawings, calculations, schematics, and supporting engineering artefacts
• Select and requisition machinery and mechanical equipment

Requirements

• Australian Citizenship Required
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
• Advanced AutoCAD capability
• Strong understanding of production methods and practical design application
• 5-10 years' experience in a similar engineering capacity
