Project Engineer – Mechanical / SMP
Full Time | Perth Based Ad Hoc Site Travel | Tier 1 Mining Clients | $150k–$180k + Super

About the Organisation

Our client is a well‑established project delivery consultancy supporting major mining operators across Western Australia. They provide engineering, project management and execution support across brownfields upgrades, sustaining capital programs and larger capital works.

The team is made up of experienced project professionals who work closely with clients to improve planning, strengthen delivery capability and ensure projects progress safely, efficiently and with clear accountability.

They are now seeking a capable Project Engineer who is looking to broaden their exposure, contribute to a variety of project environments, and continue developing their technical and commercial skillset.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will contribute to a range of SMP and multidisciplinary projects across multiple Tier 1 mining clients. You’ll work with senior project personnel, gain exposure to different delivery approaches, and build capability across engineering, planning, commercial management and site execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and project support across minor works and major capital projects
• Develop project documentation including business cases, scopes, studies and stakeholder requirements
• Support operational readiness planning and documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams, site personnel and external contractors
• Prepare cost estimates and assist with budget tracking
• Build and maintain project schedules
• Support contract administration and monitor contractor performance
• Assist with project quality, risk and compliance activities
• Prepare clear and concise progress updates for project leaders and client stakeholders

About You
You will bring:

• Strong communication and professional writing skills
• High proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Project Engineering role
• Experience within Western Australian mining or infrastructure projects is essential
• A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
