Our client designs and supplies engineered products used to support safe and efficient underground mining operations, including ground support, geotechnical and drilling systems. With a strong international manufacturing network and a reputation for delivering high-performance products to mine sites globally, they are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their product development, quality and technical function based in Malaga. 

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, influential engineering role within a fast-growing mining products business, with the ability to make a real impact on product, quality and commercial outcomes. 

The Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will see you overseeing a small team of mechanical engineers. Key duties will include: 

• Leading a team of mechanical engineers to design, develop and commercialise ground support and geotechnical products
• Owning the end-to-end product lifecycle, including testing, validation, manufacturing and market release
• Developing product and commercial strategies aligned with business goals and market demand
• Managing QA/QC systems, product compliance and non-conformance processes
• Working closely with international manufacturers and suppliers to ensure product quality and reliability
• Driving continuous improvement across shipping, packaging, inspection and supply processes
• Producing technical documentation, including test reports, data sheets and client-facing material
• Acting as the technical authority for geotechnical and ground support products, supporting internal teams, clients and site operations
• Monitoring product performance, costs and profitability while identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation

About You:
To be successful in the position, you will require the following:

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Geotechnical, Mining or similar)
• Strong experience delivering underground mining equipment and consumables to market, combined with a comprehensive understanding of ground support, geotechnical systems and mine operations.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (experience with Pronto ERP highly regarded)
• Experienced in leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects, with a strong focus on improving processes, working well with stakeholders and meeting commercial targets and deadlines
• Strong ability to analyse numbers and data to understand costs, performance and profitability, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to clearly report and present findings
